BioStat — Biological Data Analysis and Research Figures

Research & Academic · v

BioStat helps researchers explore biological datasets, run supported statistical analyses and prepare figures. Paste spreadsheet data or import CSV/text files, review descriptive statistics and keep multiple named analyses together in one saved workspace. Worked examples help explain the available workflows.

Supported methods include t-tests, classical and Welch ANOVA, rank tests, correlation, regression, contingency-table tests and supported survival analyses. One-factor complete-case repeated-measures analysis and time-course plotting are also available. Time-course tools can extract defined endpoints while reporting missing or censored values. Choose methods according to the experimental design and biological unit of replication.

Build figures with chart choices, raw observations, error bars, labels and comparison annotations. Adjust figure dimensions, fonts, axis-title spacing and legend settings. Apply selected comparisons to control which annotations are displayed without changing the statistical test or its full correction family.

Download vector SVG or resolution-tagged PNG figures and save a project containing analyses and figure settings. Review exclusions, assumptions, multiplicity corrections and export appearance before using results in a manuscript. The tool does not provide mixed-effects modeling or establish treatment-by-time inference from a time-course plot; complex designs require appropriate statistical review.

FAQs

Which datasets and file types can I load?

Paste spreadsheet values or import a CSV/text table. Review column mapping, missing values, group sizes and the correct biological unit of replication before analysis.

Which statistical methods are supported?

Available workflows include t-tests, classical and Welch ANOVA, rank tests, correlation, regression, contingency-table tests, supported survival analyses and one-factor complete-case repeated measures. Review assumptions and method details in the app.

Can I choose individual comparison annotations?

Yes. Select pairs, then use Apply selected comparisons. Font, label and spacing controls adjust their display. Display choices do not change the full statistical correction family; non-significant selected pairs can be labeled ns or with adjusted p-values.

Can I save analyses and export research figures?

Yes. Save a project containing multiple named analyses and figure settings. Export vector SVG or PNG with resolution metadata. Check the final dimensions, fonts, source data and your journal requirements.

Does BioStat support every longitudinal or complex design?

No. Time-course charts do not establish treatment-by-time effects, and the repeated-measures workflow is not a mixed-effects model. Endpoint censoring and complex experimental designs need appropriate analysis and statistical review.
